Magic, Heart, and Moon II
     Niri waited patiently outside of town, waiting to see the cloud of dust that signaled the mages' approach. It would be soon, she could feel it, but she had grown rather bored of sitting around. Even Ruby's stray cat, a ginger kitten no older than a year, had grown bored of seeking Niri's attention and now lay basking in the sun, only popping up her head when a butterfly or other creature flew near.

    Axe hadn't joined her yet but Niri assumed it was because he was helping out with Ruby's merchants and other businesses. Ruby wasn't the final stop in the mages' travels but they would have quite a few students traveling with them alreadMagic, Heart, and Moon II by =TakiYume
NaNo 2012 chp 5Avrad was the merchants Mecca, a place where they all came to sell their wares. There were weekly markets that people traveled days for, so many of them set up shop there instead of moving their tents constantly. There were those though with their wagons covered and their mules irritable that traveled through, stopping by and setting up shop in the market field.
If you needed something, no matter how rare or strange, you could get it in Avrad. Sanks had been there many times, a few back when he was a child, though he could hardly remember that time. NaNo 2012 chp 4It wasn't until the sun had fallen, lost to its daily battle to the harsh temper of the moon that they stopped walking and set up camp. Crin had been complaining constantly for the past few hours, as if he had no need for breath about how he was hungry and tired and there were blisters growing on his blisters. He had said that he hated Sanks a few times, but the man was sure that wasn't true. All that it was was that he wasn't letting the prince get his way and he didn't know how to react to that.

The Tired Horse was a small inn on the edge of Avrad, where the rooms were small and not very well taken care of. The owner was a small and meek young man, who stammered and hid behind his messy hair. He took the in with a meager smile and only asked for two coin when he led them to their room. It was plain and not very well furnished and there was only one bed, but it was the best room that was in the Tired Horse and it would do.
Crin wasn't sleeping well, his eyes on Sanks as he lay down and tried to sleep himself. The bed was tiny and his body was almost completely pressed against Crin's as he lay beside him, both in their undergarments.NaNo 2012 chp 6 by ~brody-lover

The road was smooth, the wind blowing hard as he sped. The horses were bolting, trying to get away from Sanks as best they could while still obeying his motions. His teeth were gritted against the breeze, insects stinging his face as he drove through them. The hood of his cloak had been blown off and his hair was whipping frantically, slashing at his skin worst than the insects, but he didn't care. He couldn't care.
The NHPF were somewhere behind him, having had to stop and discuss paperwork and who was going to follow and who was going to go out for backup. They were taking too long. Sanks couldn't have waited for them.

NaNo 2012 excerptEven in that haze of confusion, I thought she was a goddess.

She was lit with the sun at her back, her auburn hair glowing as if on fire. Her posture was regal but commanding, like a wild princess on a dais made of the corpses of beasts. A war goddess, surely. The bright vermilion of her hair and staff shone even through the blood that washed the scene, and she looked down at me with liquid blue eyes and a slight frown.

Where was I? The initial panic and subsequent rapture I had felt was giving way to an acute sense of bemusement. It was the most curious thing that I should have my nose on the ground, protected from a pack of hounds by a giNaNo 2012 excerpt by ~flightyclouds

It is only day one. If you are feeling overworked, exhausted and hopeless- just breathe. You can do it.
If you get behind, don't think that it is the end of the world. There is plenty of time, you can do it!

i'm only at 631 (after i stayed up late last night writing and now i'm exhausted). there are a few hours left to catch up though and the weekend tomorrow. i can't wait to join in the events. i just hope you take into concideration that not everyone is at the states but that NaNo is intranational and have some events running at all sorts of hours (like now would be good...) what's the chatroom's adress? :eager: :typerhappy:

i really hope i'll make it through this year. i have so much going on and i'm exhausted from a day of work practically every day, i didn't even find the strength to research my story properly and so i'm flying off the cuff with just what i've been mulling in my head (for months). anyway i'm wasting my word count here =p so i'll just go do stuff. can't wait to hear of the upcoming events. :heart:

Having Halloween/NaNo on a weekday is too much! I am just barely starting to write now! Yikes!!
I know how you feel!! November is such a crazy time of year, on top of school or work or whatever is going on. But I am so glad you're here to play with us!!
I'm collecting ideas for cool events in the journal entry! Still getting thing started.
